Students & Parents

“Approximately 63% of college students get an average of $7,400 each year to go to college.”

Most students rely on financial aid to make attending college a reality.

Put your hands on some cash by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Our workshops give you and your family free, on-site professional help with the FAFSA so you can get money for college. The FAFSA is the single-most important application for financial aid. It is required for most scholarships, grants, and loans.

We strongly encourage you and your parents to attend College Goal Washington together.* Because household financial information is needed to fill out the FAFSA, it's easier if you approach the process as a team.

Our workshops last between 2 to 4 hours. You may complete your FAFSA in as little as 30 minutes, but we allow enough time for you to get the assistance you need.

All events are staffed by volunteers and experts to help you and your family fill out the FAFSA.

* Not all families will have all these documents—but don't let that stop you from coming. If you don't have this year's income tax returns, bring copies of last year's forms and/or your last pay stub for making estimates. You should also bring any other financial records related to income. Even if you don’t have any paperwork, we can help you complete part of the FAFSA.

Students may attend on their own, but they'll need to bring parents' recent income tax returns and/or last pay stub and other financial records. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend with their children.
